A typical day at Sorrento

At Sorrento Centre we have purposely tailored our daily rhythm to allow everyone the perfect balance between spiritual growth, communal worship and individual time to enjoy all of the wonderful recreational activities that the Shuswap has to offer.

Worship & Music: The Centre affirms and celebrates human spirituality through the Christian faith. Worship is an opportunity for guests and staff to express their spirituality in community. We begin each day with an 8:45 a.m. worship service. In the evenings, we offer a variety of worship style, such as Taize prayers and Holden services. Music is always a big part of any worship service at Sorrento Centre, so if you want to contribute your musical talents check with the weekly music coordinator about rehearsal times. Remember to bring your musical instruments with you!

Theme Sessions: Morning courses are held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and evening courses from 6:45 to 8:15 p.m. Adult, youth and children programs are held concurrently. On Tuesday and Wednesday evenings (during Theme Program times) there will be public lectures given by our course leaders. All our guests and the local community are invited to attend. Youth and Children's programming will continue during public lecture times.

Free Time: Your afternoons are free for you and your family to enjoy. You can sun and swim at the beach, wander the grounds and admire the spectacular flower gardens, walk the labyrinth, browse in the Sorrento Centre Book Shoppe, sip a latté at the Kinghorn Cappuccino Bar, or you can venture further afield to explore the Shuswap area. There are countless recreational, historical and tourist attractions within an easy drive of the Centre.

On Friday, your week wraps up with the Celebration of the Closing Eucharist at 4:15 p.m. followed by a Summer Garden Banquet and dance that every guest is invited to enjoy.
