ASSOCIATES’ WORK/STUDY THANKSGIVING WEEKEND 2018
Prayer Beyond Words: The Associates' Thanksgiving Weekend
with Marnie Peterson
PRAYER IS AN IMPORTANT PART OF OUR LIVES as Christians. As Anglicans we are shaped by the words in our liturgy, through the daily office, Morning and Evening prayer and Compline. Our prayer books and our liturgies are filled with them.
Sometimes though words aren’t enough and our prayers might also take form through art, music or movement.
This weekend as we work, rest and play together, we will explore ‘Prayer beyond Words’ using a variety of practices. Maybe try something new and see how it feels to you or use this weekend to strengthen a practice that you already have.
MARNIE PETERSON is a priest at Christ Church Cathedral in Vancouver, where she serves as pastor to St. Brigid, the evening congregation and to the Maundy Cafe, a meal program that runs out of the Cathedral five days a week.
