Behold, the Beauty of the Lord:
An Icon Writing Workshop
with Brother James Koester, SSJE

THIS POPULAR WORKSHOP is an opportunity for participants to explore the spirituality and theology of icons, while at the same time writing or painting their own icon.

First time registrants in this course will work on an image of the face of Jesus. If you wish to complete the icon within the course of the week, you will need to be willing to work in the afternoons and evenings, as well as the regularly scheduled morning class time.

Enrollment for this class is limited to 20. No previous experience is required to participate in this class.

An additional $50 will be added to the regular course fee to cover the cost of materials.



Brother James Koester, SSJDBROTHER JAMES KOESTER, SSJE has been since 1989 a member of the Society of Saint John the Evangelist, a monastic community of the Anglican Communion. Since 2016 he has served the Society as the Superior. Before entering SSJE Brother James was a parish priest in the Diocese of British Columbia. He has studied iconography for a number of years.
