Talking Rock Golf Course
Sunday, July 29 – Saturday, August 4, 2012

Spirit Links
with Michael Ingham and Trevor Fisher

  • Have you ever experienced a transcendent moment between tee and green?
  • Do you find that your golf game mirrors your spiritual state?
  • How do you respond when you’re stuck in the sand traps of life?
  • Do you keep whacking away with no positive result or do you risk hitting backwards in order to move forwards?

Come sharpen your game and release your spirit at the same time. The week will include golf on a new and different course everyday along with a group lesson from a golf professional, and reflective conversations with spiritual professionals.

The Spirit Links instructors will golf with different foursomes each day. We will tee off about noon each day so please sign up for breakfast and lunch at the Centre and a bagged lunch will be provided.

Those who choose may stay at the golf course for their evening meal, others will return in time to dine with family members.

Course participants will have the opportunity to test themselves on the following courses:

  • “Hear the Legend and feel the Spirit” at the Championship Talking Rock Golf Course - website » The Quaaout Lodge & Talking Rock Golf Course, the pride of the Little Shuswap Indian Band, is situated on the south shore of Little Shuswap Lake.

  • Join us as we traverse the side of an extinct volcano, Mt. Ida, at the Les Furber designed Salmon Arm Golf Course - website » This highly regarded course is ranked #49 in Canada by Score Golf Magazine and rated #1 in British Columbia by readers of Pacific Golf Magazine.

  • Eagle Point Golf Course is one of two Kamloops Golf Courses built at a higher elevation with the reward of spectacular mountain views - website » Eagle Point has been included in the top 100 golf layouts in Canada and with a slope of 135 from the back tees and 117 from the whites, Eagle Point plays well for all levels of ability in spite of the severity of the terrain.

  • Shuswap Lake Estates is a par 71, 6500 yd. championship golf course 15 minutes drive east of the Sorrento Centre - website » A very entertaining golf course for both the casual and accomplished players, with playing conditions that rate as high as any in the Shuswap.

  • On Wednesday of the Spirit Links week we will have an optional golf day. Some participants may want to join their family members on the beach for some well deserved R&R. Others may want to challenge themselves at Hyde Mountain in Sicamous -website » Set in the hills above beautiful Mara Lake in the summer playground of Shuswap Country, Hyde Mountain is the latest achievement of the masterful architect Les Furber.

When you play a Furber course you know you can expect two things:
    1. You are going to have to use every shot in the bag.
    2. You can’t afford to take any tee shots lightly.
Hyde Mountain is no exception to this rule. It winds its way through thick evergreen forest and across ravines to give golfers equal amounts of beauty and challenge.

  • Just remember: You don’t play golf in order to relax, you relax in order to play golf!
