Discovering Qi Gong:
Tools to Enhance Your Well-Being
with Mark Perrin

Mark PerrinQi Gong (pronounced “chee gong”) is a process of obtaining the vital “Qi” energy from the universe through the cultivation of mind and body. This traditional Chinese practice integrates the training of mind and consciousness with bodily relaxation, breathing, concentration and visualization. Participants will leave this course with the ability to practice a series of simple Qi Gong exercises that they can use in their daily lives to help improve their state of well-being. These will consist of breathing, concentration and simple movement exercises that can be practised almost anywhere without special clothing or equipment.

Each daily session will include instruction in increasingly more complex exercises. Background on the history of Qi Gong and its inter-relationship with other traditional Chinese medicine practices will be discussed. This course is based on the teachings of Dr. Steven Aung (see http://www.aung.com). In addition to his Qi Gong practice, Dr. Aung is also a medical doctor and is a pioneer in the work of integrating western medicine with traditional Chinese and complementary medicine.

MARK PERRIN works as a consultant to the petroleum industry in Calgary, Alberta, and is a former member of Sorrento Centre’s Board of Directors. He discovered Qi Gong 15 years ago and has completed all three Qi Gong levels and additional workshops offered by his Qi Gong Master, Dr. Steven Aung. Mark began voluntarily leading groups in Qi Gong practise as part of his employer’s wellness program 12 years ago.
