JANE ALEXANDER is the current Bishop of Edmonton, Alberta. She holds a Master’s Degree in Education and a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology, both from the University of Alberta. She has also earned a Master’s Degree in Theological Studies from Newman Theological College.
Jane was ordained to the priesthood in 2001, served in several parishes in the Diocese of Edmonton and became dean in 2006. Jane was consecrated and installed as Bishop of Edmonton on May 11th, 2008. She is the first female diocesan bishop to succeed another female diocesan bishop in the Anglican Communion.
JODI PENNER has performed extensively in opera, musical theatre and solo recitals as well as BBC radio dramas and TV. Jodi grew up in San Mateo, California. After finishing her undergraduate degree in Vocal Performance at Liberty University in 1997, she moved to Edinburgh, Scotland, for three years.
In 2001 Jodi and her family moved to Edmonton, Alberta, where she has just completed her Masters of Music at the University of Alberta. In 2002 Jodi attended Operafestival di Roma’s summer opera internship program in Italy as Donna Elvira in Mozart’s Don Giovanni. Jodi received the Johann Strauss Scholarship and studied at the Franz Schubert Institute in Baden bei Wien in Austria in 2011. She is also the recipient of a Canada Council Award, Beryl Barnes Award, Carol Mallet Award, and Alberta Heritage Fund Award.
