SORRENTO QUILT WEEK!
An instructed residential quilting retreat
Quilt Week at Sorrento Centre is a four-day, five-night event where you will have instruction in the various techniques during the daytime but the evenings are a bonus time when you will have the opportunity to work further on your project or join with participants from the other workshops for additional activities. It is a fun-filled event with delicious meals, comfortable private rooms and lots of space to spread out to create your masterpiece.

Swatch, Stitch and Stash

Come and create a journal of fibre art from your collection of beautiful fabrics, threads, and embellishments. You will learn to make your own unique fabric, machine wrapped cords and sticks, fibre art beads, and thread lace. You will also have the opportunity to experience needle felting and silk fusion that can add another dimension to your art quilts.
There will be flexibility in the samples you choose to create ... and they will be created in a format that will allow them to be compiled into a delightful journal that you will enjoy for its aesthetics as well as its value as a reference tool.
This workshop will appeal to those who are itching to dip their toes in the fibre art pond as well as those who are already paddling. KATHY KINSELLA is a textile artist who resides in Blind Bay, British Columbia. Her work includes landscapes that capture the essence of the Shuswap, work with a whimsical flair, as well as liturgical fibre art. Prior to retiring to the world of fibre art, Kathy worked for the Anglican Church for 20 years – in a parish, at the diocesan level and then at Sorrento Centre.
